The 2015 edition of the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival came and went with a colossal June through August march across North America that featured heavy hitting metal acts such as Slayer, King Diamond, Hellyeah and The Devil Wears Prada crushing the main stage and the likes of Feed Her To The Sharks, Kissing Candice, Whitechapel, Thy Art is Murder, Jungle Rot, Sister Sin, Sworn In, Code Orange and Shattered Sun adorning the returning Victory Records stage.
The festival concluded earlier this month, but not without controversy, as Mayhem Fest co-founder John Reese recently confirmed that this year’s fest is officially the last, ending an epic 8-year run. That unfortunate news aside, and after all was said and done, this year’s trek brought out devoted crowds in droves to experience over 11-hours of non-stop rock, metal and hardcore. We caught NYC’s closest stop on the tour at the Nikon at Jones Beach Theater in Long Island on July 26, surrounded by colleagues, friends and thousands of the fest’s most loyal fans. Our full photographic coverage from the event continues below.
In related news, King Diamond will be returning to NYC later this year as part of a tour with Exodus that will see KD performing his 1987 classic album Abigail in its entirety. The gigs happen at Best Buy Theater in Times Square on November 20 and 21. The Saturday show is sold out, but tickets remain for Friday night.
