Brazilian prog/power metal heroes Angra unleashed their eighth full-length studio album, Secret Garden, earlier this year, marking the band’s follow-up to 2010’s Aqua and first record to feature vocalist Fabio Lione (Rhapsody of Fire) and drummer Bruno Valverde (Kiko Loureiro). To celebrate the new LP, the band embarked on a spring through summer international junket, that saw the horde hitting numerous continents, including our side of the pond for a pair of exclusive shows consisting of a stop at “ProgPower USA” in Atlanta and a headline show at B.B. King in NYC on Labor Day, September 7th. The Manhattan show featured opening sets by local metallers Gothic Knights and ShadowStrike. Exclusive new shots from the Times Square gig are in this post.
Angra are now back in Brazil and are gearing up for a set at Rock in Rio tomorrow (9/19) alongside the likes of Metallica, Motley Crue, Gojira and many others. The band will also be headlining Casa Tom Brasil in Sao Paulo, Brazil on November 7th. Stick to the band’s official page for all upcoming news, dates and details.
