LA rock veterans Toto are currently embarked on a colossal U.S. summer headlining run being billed as “An Evening With…” tour. The monumental trek kicked off in Riverside, IA earlier this month, and made a special appearance at a completely sold out Town Hall in New York City this past Saturday night (8/27). The band’s current incarnation features original members Steve Lukather (guitar, vox), David Paich (keyboards, vox) and Steve Porcaro (keyboards, vox), plus OG singer Joseph Williams and rounded out by drummer Shannon Forrest, bassist Leland Sklar (replacing the great David Hungate) and touring percussionists/backing vocalists Jenny Douglas-Foote, Mabvuto Carpenter and Lenny Castro.
The Grammy Award winning band played a healthy mix of tracks, consisting of hits from their new Toto XIV LP, as well as classic and fan-favorite anthems like “I Won’t Hold You Back,” “Georgy Porgy,” “Hold the Line,” “Rosanna,” and the night’s last song, the legendary “Africa” (can you believe the music video for this song has over 124 million views on YT in just 3 years?). Exclusive photos from the Manhattan show continue below, along with fan-filmed footage. Head over to the band’s official site for all remaining U.S. tour dates.
In related news, Toto‘s Steve Porcaro recently released his first ever solo album titled Someday/Somehow, which was co/written/produced by Michael Sherwood (formerly of Lodgic). The album also features appearances by fellow Toto members Steve Lukather, Lenny Castro and Shannon Forrest, as well as Michael McDonald (ex-Steely Dan, ex-The Doobie Brothers), plus others (order here).
