Swedish black metal demons Madruk were set to launch their previously announced North American crusade beside Rotting Christ, Carach Angren and Necronomicon tonight (9/2) at the Culture Room in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. However, that gig has been officially canceled due to border issues from Marduk‘s camp. It seems the band’s stateside invasion might be in jeopardy, as they write…
We are outraged as we have bad news for our US fans…
Still today, we’re still experiencing unexpected delays with immigration, causing us to wait a few more days before traveling to North America. We realistically expect to be able to start our tour early next week, although there’s no way to be 100% sure since it’s in the hands of the government.
We ask that you please be understanding of the situation, as we’re trying to come over as soon as we get clearance. In the meantime, keep supporting the other bands on the package – Rotting Christ, Carach Angren and Necronomicon – who will still perform as planned.
Apologies for this unfortunate situation, which is out of our control, More news will follow after Labor Day weekend.
What a bummer! The trek is scheduled to hit NYC’s Gramercy Theatre this Tuesday night (9/6) [tix are almost all gone]. If the Manhattan show gets postponed, canceled, or if it goes on without Marduk, we’ll let you know here via this post.
UPDATE 9/6: Marduk will not perform tonight in NYC, as per the venue’s just posted statement:
Due to unforeseen travel issues, Marduk will unfortunately not be performing tonight at Gramercy Theatre. However, Rotting Christ, Carach Angren, and Necronomicon will still be performing as scheduled.
Full refunds will be available at point of purchase to those who no longer wish to attend.
Tickets are still available for tonight’s show on Ticketmaster.com or at the venue box office.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.
