French metal titans Gojira recently invaded North America for a mega headlining tour in support of their sixth studio opus, Magma, which they unleashed earlier this year through Roadrunner Records. The voyage, sporting direct support from British prog metal masters Tesseract, kicked off Sept. 21st in Silver Spring, MD and came to a grand close on October 23rd at a packed Terminal 5 in New York City (with help from special guest openers Car Bomb).
As with their previous clashes with NYC venues (like Saint Vitus over the summer), Gojira slayed all in attendance with their (expected) auditory explosion, emitting sonic vibes in the form of songs from not only their new effort, but also classic riffs from acclaimed LPs such as From Mars to Sirius, The Link, The Way of All Flesh and Terra Incognita, spanning across a 17-song set-list (w/ 2 encores). Check out pics from the NYC show in this post.
Gojira will soon storm the UK for gigs in Manchester, London, Nottingham and more. Follow the band’s official site for up-to-date news.
