PA metallic headbangers August Burns Red, Canadian prog metal favorites Protest The Hero, Australian djenters In Hearts Wake and Atlanta punk rock unit ’68 are currently embarked on a lengthy 40-date North American tour. The trek kicked off last week in Philly at the Theater of Living Arts and is scheduled to conclude next month in Lancaster, PA at Chameleon Club on Feb. 18th. New York City hosted the outing a week ago today (Jan. 6th) at Times Square’s PlayStation Theater.
The six-week-long trip celebrates the tenth anniversary of the release of August Burns Red‘s second album Messengers, which the guys are playing in full on this run, along with hits from their other LPs: Constellations, Leveler, Rescue & Restore and their latest effort on Fearless Records, Found in Far Away Places. The tour also sees direct support act Protest The Hero dishing out classics from their Volition, Scurrilous and Fortress full-lengths, as well as a few tracks from the band’s latest EP on Razor & Tie, Pacific Myth.
Opening bands In Hearts Wake and ’68 are warming up venues across the nation with songs from their latest studio albums, Skydancer and In Humor and Sadness, respectively, among other albums and tracks.
Full photographic coverage from the NYC show can be viewed in this post. The tour returns to NY at Buffalo’s Town Ballroom on Feb. 12th [tix] and at Clifton Park’s Upstate Concert Hall on Feb. 17th [tix]. The run also hits nearby Sayreville, NJ at Starland Ballroom on Feb. 11th [tix]. You can also check out all remaining tour dates after the gallery.
