Japanese heavy metal legends Loudness are presently celebrating the 30th anniversary of the release of their sixth studio album Lightning Strikes aka Shadows of War (in Japan). The gang have confirmed a string of commemorative hometown shows in Japan for this April, which will apparently lead into a run of exclusive U.S. engagements, with a handful of New York appearances booked.

The NY dates include headlining shows at Manhattan’s Stage 48 on April 25 [tix] and Long Island’s Revolution Bar and Music Hall on April 26 [tix]. Loudness were also supposed to play Queens’ Blackthorn 51 on April 27, but it looks like that gig has just been canceled. In addition, Loudness will directly support hard rock vets Y&T at their show in Poughkeepsie at The Chance on April 28 [tix]. The Japanese headbangers will also play Chicago’s Reggies Rock Club a week before their NY invasion. If anymore local appearances are revealed, we’ll make sure to update this post.

Loudness‘ latest studio album and twenty-sixth full-length release, The Sun Will Rise Again, was unleashed in 2014 through Thunderball 667/Universal Music Group. Check out music from the heavy metal greats below.
