In support of their just released fourth studio album, Lower the Bar, LA glam metal greats Steel Panther are currently on the road in the U.S. on their ‘2017 Girls In A Row Tour,’ which hit New York City for a sold-out blowout at the famed Irving Plaza on April 6.
In typical Steel Panther show experience, fans dressed in their best spandex and ’80s glam rock accessories were treated to a raunchy good time as the band drilled through a 15-song set consisting of catchy tunes such as “Eyes of a Panther,” “Asian Hooker” and “Fat Girl (Thar She Blows).” Amid bawdy jokes in between songs, synchronized rock moves and tons of crowd interaction, the band plowed through the night, performing new songs “Goin’ in the Backdoor,” “That’s When You Came In” and “Poontang Boomerang” for the first time in NYC.
Prior to Steel Panther‘s encore, which consisted of Feel the Steel favorites “Community Property” and “Party All Day (Fuck All Night),” a flock of overly excited female fans were invited on stage to help sing along and dance to tracks “17 Girls in a Row,” “Gloryhole” and “Death to All but Metal.” The band’s 90-minute-plus and high-jinks-filled spectacle eventually came to a close, with the foursome gracefully thanking the crowd for another sold-out showing in the Big Apple.
Fresh off a tour with Amaranthe, Detroit hard rockers Citizen Zero warmed up the crowd with numbers from their debut studio album State of Mind, including songs “Go (Let Me Save You),” “Lure and Persuade” and “Bangin’ in the Nails.”
