As part of their “Fallen Hearts of North America” tour, Swedish depressive metallers Katatonia recently infiltrated the states with help from Massachusetts post-rockers Caspian and New York’s own Uncured. The 4-and-a-half-week long outing was put into motion in mid-March and came to a monumental close at a packed Irving Plaza in New York City this past Friday (4/21).
Supporting their 2016 full-length on Peaceville Records, The Fall of Hearts, Katatonia performed fresh songs from their latest album, counting the likes of “Last Song Before the Fade,” “Serein,” “Old Heart Falls,” “Residual” and “Passer,” along with favored tracks from their classic LPs Viva Emptiness, Dead End Kings, Last Fair Deal Gone Down, The Great Cold Distance and Night Is the New Day.
Caspian enthralled the crowd with hits from their records Waking Season, Tertia and Dust and Disquiet, meanwhile newcomers Uncured entertained their hometown devotees and newly gained fans with cuts from their just released album Medusa.
