Photos: Okilly Dokilly brought ‘Nedal’ to Gramercy Theatre (6/2)
The Ned Flanders-themed metal sensation and self-proclaimed “world’s first Nedal band” Okilly Dokilly recently concluded their ‘Howdilly Doodilly Tour,’ which invaded a slew of U.S. towns this spring with help from the Metallica-meets-Beatles cover band Beatallica.
The tour rolled through New York City earlier this month for a hoedown at Gramercy Theatre, where local hardcore ‘neighborinos,’ some dressed in their best Flanders gear (i.e., traditional green sweater, pink shirt, and nerdy glasses), moshed and rioted to favorites such as “Flanderdoodles,” “You’re a Jerk” and “White Wine Spritzer” from the band’s debut studio album Howdilly Doodilly. Beatallica joined in on the fun towards the end of Okilly Dokilly‘s set for a rendition of “Yellow Family” (a parody of The Beatles‘ legendary track “Yellow Submarine”).
Check out our exclusive photos of Okilly Dokilly live in NYC on June 2nd via this posting. The group will soon return to the road for “The Death to False Nedal Tour,” which hits Long Island at Revolution (w/ Lucid Dreams & Logan’s Room) on July 9 [TIX]. Get all upcoming tour dates here.
