Captain Beyond going on summer romp; playing BK (win tickets + more!)

Prog/psych rock vets Captain Beyond, led by drummer Bobby Caldwell (who also played in English hard rockers Armageddon and with Johnny Winter) and known for their legendary ’70s albums Captain Beyond, Sufficiently Breathless and Dawn Explosion, will soon hit the road for a handful of rare appearances on the east coast.

The summer gigs consist of stops in Atlanta, Raleigh, Philly, Niagara Falls and Brooklyn where they will invade the popular Saint Vitus in Greenpoint on August 22. The NYC show will feature special guest support act The Golden Grass, with tickets on sale now HERE.

Additionally, we’re doing a giveaway for the Brooklyn show! Sign up below for a chance to win the following:

* 1 grand prize winner will receive 2 tickets and 2 meet-and-greet passes to the Saint Vitus show. Winner also gets a copy of Captain Beyond‘s compilation album Lost & Found (pictured above), which highlights previously never released tracks from the original lineup of the band.

* 2 runner-up winners will each receive a copy of Lost & Found.

Contest ends Friday (8/18) at noon, when winners will be randomly picked and contacted.

Captain Beyond are also set to take on the ‘Days of Darkness Fest’ in Baltimore in late October, sharing the stage with bands like Neurosis, Manilla Road and Perturbator. Check out all upcoming Captain Beyond dates HERE and stream some classic tunes below.
