As part of their ‘Bloodshed for the Zenith Tour,’ marking their first full U.S. headlining run, black metal hell-raisers Inquisition are currently slaying numerous American markets with help from Oregon melodic BM-ers Uada and California’s Volahn.
New York City witnessed said bloodshed when the trek invaded Gramercy Theatre on Wednesday night, September 13, featuring a malevolent set from Inquisition, who belched tracks from their earliest opuses: Invoking the Majestic Throne of Satan, Magnificent Glorification of Lucifer, Nefarious Dismal Orations, plus Ominous Doctrines of the Perpetual Mystical Macrocosm, Obscure Verses for the Multiverse and their latest Bloodshed Across the Empyrean Altar Beyond the Celestial Zenith.
The hooded rippers in Uada proved to be an excellent appetizer for the main course to come, with their dark, gloomy and totally vicious display, tearing into songs from their 2016 debut LP Devoid of Light. Meanwhile, Volahn laid it all onstage with their chaotic ritual, causing a free-for-all in the pit. Brooklyn’s own Mutilation Rites, who are presently working on their third studio album, opened the show, playing hits from their LPs Empyrean, Harbinger and more.
