The Jesus Lizard announce late fall tour dates

Following an eight year hiatus, Chicago-based noise rock pros The Jesus Lizard will return to the stage for their previously announced stint at Houston’s ‘Day for Night‘ festival in mid-December, which also features sets from Nine Inch Nails, Thom Yorke, Godspeed You! Black Emperor and others.

The legends have just revealed a string of new U.S. tour dates leading up to their appearance at said Texas fest. New gigs confirmed include headliners in Nashville, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco and New York City for their triuphant return to Irving Plaza on December 10 [TIX go on sale on 10/6].

Here’s more on the band via Rolling Stone:

The noise-rock crew originally came together in 1987 before calling it quits in 1999. During that time, they built a steady following thanks in part to a split single with Nirvana, which made it on to the U.K. singles chart, and a slot on Lollapalooza ’95, which coincided with the band’s signing to Capitol Records. They re-formed in 2008 for touring pegged to remastered reissues of the group’s catalogue on indie-label Touch and Go, but didn’t pursue any dates beyond 2009.

The Jesus Lizard, consisting of vocalist David Yow, guitarist Duane Denison, bassist David Wm. Sims, and drummer Mac McNeilly, last played NYC at Irving Plaza in fall of 2009. All upcoming dates and a few streams continue below.
