Photos: Brujeria & Powerflo slaughtered Irving Plaza (11/3)

Pics by Diego Villalobos

Hailing from Mexico, machete-wielding deathgrind maniacs Brujeria are in the process of slashing their way through North America on their robust ‘Dias de los Muertos’ tour which kicked off a few weeks back on the west coast. Featuring support from Powerflo (ft. current & former members of Cypress Hill, Biohazard, Fear Factory & Downset) and Tex-Mex punk rock crew Piñata Protest, the massacre made its way to New York City at Irving Plaza on November 3rd.

Performing fresh spewings from their latest smut on Nuclear Blast dubbed Pocho Aztlan, along with tracks from their earlier efforts Brujerizmo, Raza Odiada and Matando Güeros, the masked bandits ransacked a sweltering NYC venue and left behind a trail of destruction. Even Alekhine’s Gun‘s own Jessica Pimentel got in on the action, breaching the stage mid-set to lend shrieks for songs “Bruja,” “Cuiden a los Niños,” “Sida De La Mente” and more. In fact, it was just announced that Jessica has been named a member of the band and will be joining the gang for the remainder of this tour.
