Dorothy embarking on ‘Freedom Tour’ in 2018

LA-based alt rockers Dorothy have announced their ‘Freedom Tour,’ which takes place early next year with a gigantic 35-date schedule.

Set to feature songs from Dorothy‘s debut record on Roc Nation titled Rockisdead, the trek jump starts at the beginning of January in Milwaukee, WI and cruises through March with a final stop set in Houston, TX. New Yorkers can catch the trip in Manhattan at Bowery Ballroom on Jan. 10 [TIX].

The outing will feature a local band (to be determined) in each market. Here’s more info via lead vocalist Dorothy Martin:

Touring sweeps you from city to city. Sometimes you don’t even get a chance to venture past a couple blocks of the venue you’re performing in. On this tour, we are doing something different. Instead of letting a band with marketing dollars and guaranteed ticket sales open for me, I thought it would be cool to let the local favorite band in each city have a shot.

This tour is about taking the time to truly connect with the different communities to get a taste of what the local music scene is like. We want to be inspired. This could be a disaster or it could be complete magic. Who knows? WHO CARES?! It’s rock n’ roll.
