Alice in Chains

Rock legends Alice in Chains are in the midst of their 2018 North American tour, which was set in motion in late April in Boston. The trek announced an NYC show at Hammerstein Ballroom for May 7th, which sold-out in no time. Popular demand caused a second showing at the Manhattan Center for May 8th.

We caught said second showing which saw the band in excellent form, performing a solid 20-song set that surprised fans with the new song “The One You Know” from the band’s forthcoming new album. Epic classics like “Them Bones,” “Man in the Box,” “No Excuses,” “Down in a Hole,” “Nutshell,” “Heaven” Beside You,” closer “Rooster” and more sent a sold-out audience into mass excitement. The band also played a few hits from 2013’s The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here, including “Hollow,” “Voices,” and “Stone.”

Walking Papers opened both NYC gigs, entertaining the crowd with their energetic eight-song set, which included their hits “Death On The Lips,” “Hard To Look Away,” “Somebody Else,” “Capital T,” “Two Tickets and a Room,” a cover of The Missionary Position‘s “Every Man For Himself,” and more.

Alice in Chains‘ tour runs through later this week with a final performance at ‘WMMR BBQ’ in Camden, NJ on 5/19. The guys will then head to the UK and Europe for a round of summer dates, which they’ll follow with additional USA appearances (get all dates).
