Supporting their fourth studio album titled Sonder (out now via KScope), UK prog metal titans TesseracT are bringing their new tunes to worldwide audience starting with a North American tour that kicked off last month in Boston and came to a grand close in New York City at Irving Plaza on May 24th.
TesseracT performed mind-bending new tracks “Luminary,” “Smile,” and “King” during their epic 14-song display in the East Village. The band also played select few favorites from their past LPs One, Altered State and Polaris, plus their first EP Concealing Fate, spreading forth tracks like “Of Mind – Nocturne,” “Survival,” Phoenix,” “April,” “Concealing fate Part I, II & II,” and more.
Direct support came from Australia’s Plini (+ his backing band), who performed tracks from his debut LP Handmade Cities, and EPs Other Things and Sweet Nothings. Highlights from Plini‘s set include the performance of his lead-off song of the night, the fresh new single “Salt + Charcoal,” plus his performance of “Away” which saw a stage crew member jump on stage to shave a member of Astronoid‘s beard off, and the later half of the act’s set which featured an impromptu jam of ‘Raining Blood’ by Slayer before leading out with his last song, the well received “Electric Sunrise.”
Massachusetts’ Astronoid launched the party with hits from their latest full-length, Air, performing “Incandescent,” “Up and Atom,” “Resin,” Tin Foil Hats,” and more.
Exclusive photos from the NYC show continue below. Next up for Tesseract, they’ll tour in Europe and the UK through November (get all dates).
