Throat: Listen to a new song + catch them on tour soon

Throat by Hilja Mustonen

Finnish noise rock outfit Throat recently premiered (via BrooklynVegan) their new track “Born Old” from their second album, Bareback, set for international unleashing on August 31st via Svart Records.

Throat guitarist/vocalist Jukka Mattila tells BrooklynVegan, “‘Born Old’ was a deliberate effort to break some formulas we always fall into when writing music. To most people it might sound like the same drivel we always do and in spite of the fact that they’re probably right, we’re proud of our song. Lyrically, ‘Born Old’ is about feeling bad in every which way possible. Feeling good is overrated anyway. Plus there’s a Coil reference in the lyrics, see if you can spot that!”

In addition, Throat are getting ready to embark on a nine-date U.S. tour, which kicks off at Brooklyn’s Saint Vitus (w/ Couch Slut, Netherlands, Haan) this Friday, August 17 [TIX].

The run ends in Detroit later this month. Get all upcoming dates below.
