Rock/metal giants Godsmack and Shinedown are currently on the road on a co-headlining North American tour, featuring opening support from Red Sun Rising. The run landed in NY for a blazing evening at Wantagh’s Jones Beach Theater on September 2nd.
Godsmack closed out the night with a potent 13 song setlist, kicking off their set with “When Legends Rise,” from their recently released seventh studio album of the same name. The band would go on to perform “Say My Name,” “Someday” and “Bulletproof” from the new LP during their explosive set. A rabid crowd also raged for favorite singles like “Keep Away,” “Cryin’ Like a Bitch,” “Awake,” “Voodoo,” “Whatever,” and more, including a special cover of AC/DC‘s “Highway to Hell,” which featured Shinedown‘s Zach Myers.
Speaking of Shinedown, the Jacksonville, Florida alt-metal behemoths performed right before Godsmack, exploding onto LI’s premiere amphitheater stage with a strong setlist of their own, igniting smiles and horns with “Sound of Madness” from their 2018 LP of the same name. Supporting their new effort Attention Attention, the band ended up performing singles “Get Up,” and set closer “Devil,” but not before laying out popular crushers like “I’ll Follow You,” “Bully,” “Cut the Cord,” a cover of Lynyrd Skynyrd‘s “Simple Man” and more.
Ohio’s Red Sun Rising introduced the evening with songs from their fresh full-length, Thread, and more.
