Portland heavy rockers Red Fang are about to conclude a late summer / early fall headlining trek of the U.S., that kicked off earlier this month at the ‘Hopscotch Music Festival’ in Raleigh, NC. Boasting support from Dead Now and Big Business, the Kerrang!-presented, 18-date trek arrived in our area for shows in PA, CT and in NY where it attacked Brooklyn’s Music Hall of Williamsburg on September 19.
Red Fang performed a slew of tracks from their Murder the Mountains (2011) and Whales and Leeches (2013) albums in NYC, ripping through numbers like “Crows in Swine,” “Blood Like Cream,” “Malverde,” “1516,” “Into the Eye,” and others. The quartet also played a handful of tracks from their latest LP, Only Ghosts, like “Not For You,” “The Smell of the Sound,” “Flies,” and “Cut It Short,” plus classic cuts “Sharks” and “Prehistoric Dog” from their first record, and their brand new cover of Tubeway Army‘s “Listen to the Sirens.”
The tour hits Detroit tonight (9/26), Chicago tomorrow (9/27) and ends in Indianapolis on Friday (9/28). Red Fang will then embark on west coast gigs starting in November. Get full tour info HERE.
