Behemoth

Polish extreme metal titans Behemoth are currently embarked on their ‘Ecclesia Diabolica America 2018 e.v. Tour,’ featuring support from the great At The Greats, plus equally awesome act, Wolves in the Throne Room.

Behemoth brought their fiendish trek to New York City at a sold-out PlayStation Theater on November 3rd, marking the band’s biggest headlining show in the U.S. ever. The guys did not disappoint their NYC fan base, playing a pummeling 14-song set in the heart of the Big Apple, dishing out fresh tracks like “Wolves ov Siberia,” “Bartzabel,” “God = Dog,” “Ecclesia Diabolica Catholica,” and “We Are the Next 1000 Years” from their newest studio album on Metal Blade, I Loved You at Your Darkest.

Featuring insane cryo/CO2 blasts and a few costume changes, Behemoth‘s set also saw them delivering favorite songs like “Daimonos,” “Ov Fire and the Void,” and “Lucifer” off Evangelion, along with The Satanist, Demigod, and Satanica tunes such as “Ora Pro Nobis Lucifer,” “Conquer All,” “Decade of Therion,” and more. Fans could also be seen enjoying Behemoth‘s “Wolf ov Siberia” Double IPA beer, being sold exclusively at PlayStation Theater for one night only.

Swedish melodic death metal pioneers At The Gates provided direct support on the bill, rousing a packed house with Slaughter of the Soul hits “Cold,” “Suicide Nation,” “Blinded by Fear,” and the LP’s title-track. The Gothenburg DM giants also played a good amount of tracks off their 2014 effort, At War With Reality, like “Death and the Labyrinth,” “Heroes and Tombs,” “The Book of Sand (The Abomination),” and more, along with “A Stare Bound in Stone” and “To Drink From the Night Itself” from their latest record.

Dark ambient post-metal conjurers Wolves in the Throne Room introduced the night’s ritual, performing their lengthy and haunting songs “Angrboda,” “The Old Ones Are With Us,” and “Born From the Serpent’s Eye” from their newest opus, Thrice Woven.

The tour continues through next weekend (see remaining dates). Photos from Manhattan continue below.
