Brooklyn, New York heavy metal veterans Biohazard recently celebrated the release of their 9th studio album “Reborn in Defiance” (pick up your copy here) with a record release party at NYC’s Gramercy Theatre on January 17th. Next Mosh’s own Desi Sanchez was on the scene to talk with Bobby and Danny of Biohazard about their new full-length, the recording process, the absence of Evan Seinfeld, crazy moments on stage and much more. SOS performed at the 2011 NYC Marathon (pics, video)

Hard rockers SOS performed in-front of over 47-thousand runners for the 13th consecutive year (!) yesterday, November 6th at the 2011 edition of the New York City Marathon. SOS rocked out at the 15-mile mark in Long Island City, NY on a windy (atleast in Queens) but overall nice and pleasant Sunday where Geoffrey Mutai of Kenya shattered the course record by more than two and a half minutes, finishing in 2 hours, 5 minutes, 6 seconds. Mayhem, Keep of Kalessin, Hate & more desecrated Gramercy Theatre (photos, video)

Mayhem, Keep of Kalessin, Hate, Abigail Williams and Woe stormed New York City’s Gramercy Theatre a couple days ago, Thursday, November 3rd, as part of a full-blown North American tour which recently kicked-off and is scheduled to run till December 11th. The trek will infest the Montage Music Hall in Rochester, NY tonight (see complete dates here). Photos of the NYC concert can be viewed below, as well as footage of Mayhem’s (dimly lit) set. The show also dubbed as the official pre-game party for The 2011 Metal Suckfest, which ends its two day stint TONIGHT, November 5th at Gramercy Theatre. Tickets are still available.

Thy Burden Record Release Show at The Bowery Electric (TONIGHT) + New Live Video

NYC’s own dark folk bluegrass horde Thy Burden will unleash their long-awaited new album “Behold!” (stream 4 tracks here) into the world TONIGHT, July 23rd, with a record release bash at NYC’s The Bowery Electric (327 Bowery, at 2nd Street). Drunken shenanigans commence at 7:00 PM (FREE!). Must be 21+ to enter.

In more news, Thy Burden recently (7/17) bombarded southern/rockabilly joint Rodeo Bar in NYC alongside Rode Island’s Filthy Still (who return to NYC on 9/2 for the 2011 Coney Island Rockabilly Festival at Cha Cha’s). Canadian thrash metallers Titans Eve are currently on the road (on the Canadian portion) of their first North American tour in support of their debut release, “The Divine Equal”.

The tour, appropriately titled “The Divine Equal Tour”, cruised by New York last week, tagging Manhattan, Queens, and Hampton Bays along its way. Footage of Titans Eve’s June 23rd performance at Tobacco Road in NYC can be viewed below (full set). For Titans Eve’s remaining live dates, go here. The live musical celebration that is Make Music New York invaded the streets of NYC this past Monday, June 21st, with over 1000 free concerts all over the city. On the heavy side of things, Wizardry, La Otracina, Thinning The Herd and a bunch of other local greats set up camp under the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway for an afternoon of menacing hard rock and metal. While over in Park Slope, Pennsylvania-based death thrashers The Gloominous Doom crammed into a dimly lit and jam-packed Lucky 13 Saloon for an intimate and ear busting performance. The Lucky 13 showcase also featured live action from Demilitia and a few others. If you missed out on all the fun, see below for a handful of clips. New York 4-piece thrash metal act No Remission celebrated the release of their long awaited full-length, “Through Blackened Skies”, with a CD release party at NYC’s The Studio a Webster Hall this past Saturday, June 18th. Left In Ruins , Arcane Malevolence and Alekhine’s Gun (who cut their set short due to technical difficulties) assisted in welcoming No Remission’s new effort (which you can pick up here). See below for photos and videos of the night, and also note that the show was professionally filmed for a future DVD release, so make sure to check that out as well:
