Brooklyn, New York heavy metal veterans Biohazard recently celebrated the release of their 9th studio album “Reborn in Defiance” (pick up your copy here) with a record release party at NYC’s Gramercy Theatre on January 17th. Next Mosh’s own Desi Sanchez was on the scene to talk with Bobby and Danny of Biohazard about their new full-length, the recording process, the absence of Evan Seinfeld, crazy moments on stage and much more. Converge, Git Some & Pianos Become The Teeth to play Music Hall of Williamsburg

Converge, Loma Prieta, Git Some will combine forces, with additional bands on select dates, for a U.S. run in April.

The two-week trek will come to a close on April 14th at Music Hall of Williamsburg in Brooklyn (without Loma Prieta). Pianos Become The Teeth will open. Ticket info TBA.

Converge are currently in the studio recording their new full-length tentatively titled “All We Love We Leave Behind”. You can expect the effort sometime late spring/early summer.

Ulcerate + Tombs in New York

New Zealand’s Ulcerate and NYC’s Tombs will team up for a series of Northeastern shows in May. The journey will mark Ulcerate’s first ever North American tour.

The MetalSucks-presented trek will invade Public Assembly in Brooklyn on May 20th (with guests TBA), and the Bug Jar in Rochester on May 25th. Ticket info forthcoming.

Prior to that show, Tombs will join Argonauts, Psychic Limb and The Year is One for a gig at Union Pool on March 3rd. Doors open at 8PM / $10.

Cannabis Corpse, Ramming Speed & Revocation to perform at Saint Vitus

Cannabis Corpse, Ramming Speed and Revocation will join forces for a string of dates in April.

The 10-day U.S. trek will land at Saint Vitus in Brooklyn on April 28th. Ticket info TBA.

Cannabis Corpse’s new video for their track “Where The Kind Lives” from their album “Beneath Grow Lights Thou Shalt Rise” hit the net early last month. You can check it out below. The band are also in the process of recruiting a permanent vocalist, after loosing original singer Andy ”Weedgrinder” Horn last year.

As previously mentioned, Revocation are currently on tour with Children of Bodom, Eluveitie and Threat Signal. A show at The Paramount in Huntington, NY will go down on March 2nd.

Blacksmith to release material, working on new LP, book shows in New York

A recently reformed Blacksmith have announced that their unreleased 1990 LP “Time Out Of Mind” will finally see daylight this year through North Carolina-based Heaven and Hell Records. The four-piece power metal veterans from Albany, NY are also currently in the studio recording an all new album entitled “Last of a Dying Breed”. Blacksmith made their triumphant return at last year’s Progpower Fest in Atlanta, GA where the band met and greeted fans, and are now booked for Ragnarökkr Metal Apocalypse Festival in Joliet, IL and Headbangers Open Air Festival in Germany. The band will also perform twice in New York with Sweden’s Sabaton later this spring, and have also organized an official reunion show next month in Clifton Park, NY. Full details:

Meshuggah, Baroness & Decapitated to play Terminal 5

Meshuggah, Baroness and Decapitated will embark on a North American tour together in late April titled “The Ophidian Trek”.

The 19-city journey is scheduled to conclude at Terminal 5 in NYC on May 23rd. Tickets go on-sale starting February 10th at noon.

Meshuggah will be touring in support of their upcoming new full-length “Koloss”, due out March 23rd via Nuclear Blast.

Protest the Hero, Periphery, Jeff Loomis, & The Safety Fire tour to hit Gramercy Theatre

Protest the Hero, Periphery, Jeff Loomis, and The Safety Fire will team up for a U.S. tour together in March/April.

The trek will crash Gramercy Theatre in New York City on April 20th. Ticket info forthcoming.

In more news, Moe, Luke and Rody of Protest the Hero are currently offering lessons online via Bandhappy. Arif and Tim are rumored to have some lessons up in the near future as well.

Mastodon, Opeth, & Ghost to play Roseland Ballroom

Mastodon, Opeth, and Ghost are currently in the process of finalizing dates for a full blown U.S run together later this year dubbed “Hunter Heritage Tour”.

A concert at Roseland Ballroom in New York City has been confirmed for April 11th. Tickets go on Live Nation / Mobile App pre-sale this Wednesday, February 1st at 10AM. General public tickets will be released two days later, February 3rd at 10AM.

Shinedown, Adelita’s Way, & Art of Dying to perform at Best Buy Theater

Shinedown, Adelita’s Way, New Medicine (March 27th – April 10th), and Art of Dying (April 12th – April 25th) will hook up beginning in March for the 2012 edition of the “Avalanche Tour”.

A stop at Best Buy Theater in New York City has been set for April 20th (and at Rapids Theater in Niagara Falls, NY on April 16th). Tickets to the tour will go on-sale to the general public on February 3rd and February 4th.

Dysrhythmia to headline Saint Vitus, Kevin Hufnagel performing at The Stone TONIGHT, + new Behold… The Arctopus shows

NYC’s Dysrhythmia, who are currently working with Profound Lore Records for the release of their next album, will join forces with Torrential Downpour (who play The Charleston on 2/10), Cleric, and Pyrrhon (who were recently added to Hate Eternal’s Saint Vitus gig on 3/9) for a show at Saint Vitus in Brooklyn on March 22nd. Tickets to the show, which is part of a mini-East Coast run, are on-sale now. Show starts are 8PM, 21+ only.

Dysrhythmia’s Kevin Hufnagel will also perform a special solo set TONIGHT, January 30th, at The Stone in NYC (corner of Avenue C & East 2nd St). Kevin will be playing nearly all of his baritone ukulele songs. Event starts at 8PM sharp. Kevin was also recently added to Julie Christmas‘ show at Saint Vitus on February 4th, which Steve Brodsky of Cave In is also scheduled to appear at.

And, Dysrhythmia’s Colin Marston will perform a series of NYC shows in February with his technical progressive metal project Behold… The Arctopus. The trio will perform at Death By Audio on February 6th, Public Assembly on February 16th, and Saint Vitus on February 24th.
