Texas heavy metallers Device, featuring Disturbed mainman David Draiman, ex-Filter guitarist Geno Lenardo (who is temporarily being replaced by Dope lead guitarist Virus), and touring drummer Will Hunt of Evanescence and Dark New Day fame, burst through The Machine Shop in Flint, MI a week ago today (May 8) with Florida alt metal unit Nonpoint and LA hard rockers Gemini Syndrome. Device kicked off their set with “Penance,” the second song off their spankin’ new debut self-titled LP on Warner Bros. Records, and proceeded to perform the new album in its entirety. The guys also belted out tracks “A Part of Me” (w/ Aaron Nordstrom from Gemini Syndrome) and a cover of NIN‘s “Wish,” which are featured on the deluxe edition of the CD and a live rendition of “Recover” from the Best Buy exclusive release.
Device will deliver their metallic anthems to Pennsylvanian ears tonight (5/15) at the Ice Garden and tomorrow (5/16) in Clifton Park, NY at Upstate Concert Hall – followed by a weekend stint at MMRBQ Festival and Rock on the Range. Dig the full list of upcoming Device live dates at this location.
Without further delay, check out photos from the 5/8 Michigan show below. Also be sure to check out the official video for the album’s first single, “Vilify,” after the gallery. The clip was directed by P.R. Brown (Audioslave, Mötley Crüe, Korn, Godsmack).
