LA hardcore punk/crossover thrash metal vets Body Count – fronted by rapper, singer and actor Ice-T – will unleash their fifth studio album and first LP in six years, Manslaughter, on June 10 via Sumerian Records. In support of the new release, Body Count have announced a special record release show on June 12 at New York City’s Gramercy Theatre. Support on the bill will come from NYC’s own hardcore punk legends Madball and PA’s Wisdom in Chains. Tickets go on sale to the general public starting this Friday (5/16) at 10am. Peep the show flyer below.
Body Count are also scheduled to appear on select dates of this year’s edition of the ‘Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival,’ which will also feature performances by Avenged Sevenfold, Korn, Asking Alexandria, Trivium and more. The tour lands at Jones Beach in Long Island on July 30 (unfortunately without Body Count). Hit up www.rockstarmayhemfest.com for more info.
Speaking of Madball, the guys have set June 27 as the official street date for their forthcoming album Hardcore Lives, which was engineered by Ken Susi (Unearth), mixed/mastered by Zeuss (Agnostic Front, Hatebreed, Terror), and features guest appearances by Scott Vogel (Terror), Toby Morse (H20) and Candace Puopolo (Walls Of Jericho).
In related hardcore news, and as previously announced, the 2014 ‘Black N’ Blue Bowl’ is set to demolish Brooklyn’s The Well (272 Meserole St) this weekend, May 17 and 18. The two-day throw-down will deliver performances by Hatebreed, Discharge (only American show), Agnostic Front (“Cause For Alarm” era line-up), Biohazard, 7 Seconds and many others. Tickets are still available.
