Canadian metal squad The Agonist, who last year introduced new vocalist Vicky Psarakis to the fold after long-time singer Alissa White-Gluz made the move over to Arch Enemy, unleashed their fourth studio album, Eye of Providence, yesterday (2/24) through Century Media. An official video for the album’s first single “A Gentle Disease” was made available online earlier this month and can be viewed below. Revolver Magazine are also streaming the record in its entirety right here.
The Agonist are currently supporting the new LP with shows in Canada and will soon embark on a UK tour in March with Otep and Ferium, which will be followed by spring U.S. gigs with Allegaeon and Product of Hate, a set at “New England Metal and Hardcore Festival,” and select dates aboard the recently announced “Revolver’s Hottest Chicks Tour” with Flyleaf, Fit For Rivals, Diamantle and Falling For Scarlet.
None of those aforementioned plans include a show in the NYC-area, until now! The Agonist have just confirmed they will stop by The Big Apple the day after their NEMHF appearance for a headline stint at The Studio at Webster Hall on April 19. The Manhattan show, boasting support from NJ’s own Circuitry, will mark The Agonist‘s first-ever concert in NYC with Vicky on the mic. Tickets go on sale Friday (2/27) at 10am.
