Rolling up in a fancy white limo, Swedish hard rock sinners Ghost desecrated Brooklyn’s Rough Trade this past Sunday evening (8/23) for the final stop of their previously talked about “Unholy/Unplugged” tour, which saw the newly appointed Papa Emeritus III and two of his Nameless Ghouls; specifically guitarists Fire Ghoul aka Alpha and Aether Ghoul aka Omega, congregating at the Williamsburg record shop for a special rare stripped down acoustic live performance in support of their just released third album, Meliora (stream it).

Playing songs from 2013’s Infestissumam full-length, namely “Jigolo Har Megiddo” and “Ghuleh/Zombie Queen,” and a cover of Roky Erickson‘s “If You Have Ghosts,” Ghost (who are no longer Ghost B.C. stateside), invited fans to participate in the 30-minute, three-song ritual by letting them chime in using borrowed instruments like rhythm sticks, a shaker and a tambourine. With a line that wrapped around the block, the event culminated with a signing session and meet-and-greet.

Starting next month, Ghost will be embarking on their “Black To The Future Tour” with London psych-rockers Purson in tow. As previously posted, the undertaking will infiltrate NYC’s Terminal 5 on September 27, with tickets still available here.
