King Diamond recently concluded a five-week long headline run across the U.S. that saw The King and Co. dish out a full rendition of their 1987 iconic album Abigail, along with other classic hits and Mercyful Fate covers at every stop of the tour. Bay Area thrash metal kings Exodus provided direct support on the trek, which came through New York City last month for three back-to-back shows at the PlayStation Theater in Times Square. Two of the three NYC shows were completely sold-out, and we caught the first night on November 19th. Belated pics from that show can now be viewed in this post.
The Philadelphia and Detroit stops of the tour were filmed by director Denise Korycki (Cannibal Corpse, Killswitch Engage) for an upcoming live DVD/Blu-ray release, the band’s first ever (stay tuned for further details). In more KD news, 1995’s The Spider’s Lullabye LP was recently re-released in deluxe, re-mastered form in both CD and vinyl, and includes previously unreleased demos and more (order here).
