Metallic super group Metal Allegiance concluded their brief “Destination (Almost) East Coast Tour” at New York City’s Gramercy Theatre last Thursday night (4/7), with help from support acts Next To None and Chains Over Razors. On this run, Metal Allegiance‘s live lineup consisted of drummer Mike Portnoy (ex-Dream Theater), guitarists Alex Skolnick (Testament) and Ron “Bumblefoot” Thal (ex-Guns N’ Roses), bassist Mark Menghi and singers Chuck Billy (Testament), Mark Osegueda (Death Angel) and (on the last few dates of the run) Chris Jericho (Fozzy).
The boys performed an impressive 2-hour set consisting of tracks from their Sept. 2015 self-titled debut album on Nuclear Blast (which features appearances from other notable rockers like Randy Blythe, Philip Anselmo and David Ellefson), as well as cover songs from mega bands like Judas Priest, Accept, Black Sabbath and AC/DC, while alternating vocalists in-between songs. Though for the last hit of the night (a rendition of Metallica‘s “Seek and Destroy”), the entire metal assembly (including the youngins in Next To None) flooded the stage for one last hurrah. Our photo coverage from the Manhattan concert can now be viewed in this post
Metal Allegiance have a single date booked on their current tour schedule, in the form on a special appearance at “Bloodstock Festival” in the UK on August 14, beside Slayer, Anthrax, Symphony X and others. Follow the band’s official page for up-to-date info.
