As Newsday posted earlier this month, local guitar legend Steve Vai will be honored at the upcoming Long Island Music Hall of Fame, scheduled to go down in Westbury, NY at The Space at Westbury Theater on November 3. The fundraising gala, with proceeds going toward building a new LI Music Hall of Fame museum in Wyandanch, will also induct actor/rocker Steven Van Zandt, as well as music producer Charles Koppelman, singer-songwriter Garland Jeffreys, guitarist Johnny Farina, rapper Big Daddy Kane, film score composer Carter Burwell and saxophonist Vince Giordano. Tickets to attend the ceremony are still available.

Additionally, Steve Vai will soon hit the road for the North American leg of his Passion and Warfare 25th anniversary tour, which commemorates said 1990 album with a full performance from top to bottom, with some extra surprises. The lengthy run hits New York for a handful of shows, specifically Albany at the Hart Theater at The Egg on November 4 [tix], NYC at Town Hall on November 9 [tix], and Westbury at The Space at Westbury Theater on November 12 [tix]. All tour dates can be viewed below.

A re-release of Passion and Warfare, containing remastered songs from the album and a brand-new bonus record titled Modern Primitive (with songs written and recorded between Flex-Able and Passion And Warfare), is available now via Sony Legacy.
