The undisputed queen of heavy metal, Doro Pesch, recently set out on a string of U.S. tour dates celebrating Warlock‘s 1987 masterpiece Triumph and Agony. The outing graced Worcester, Detroit, Chicago, Los Angeles, and New York City for exciting evening at B.B. King on September 10th.
Joined by original Triumph and Agony guitarist Tommy Bolan, along with bassist Nick Douglas, drummer Johnny Dee, guitarist Bas Maas and guitarist / keyboardist Luca Princiotta, Doro unleashed fury in NYC, performing legendary Triumph and Agony tracks “I Rule the Ruins,” “Three Minute Warning,” “Cold, Cold World,” “Metal Tango,” “All We Are” and more.
As part of the encore, the band raged on with Warlock tracks from True as Steel, Burning the Witches and Hellbound, concluding with “The Night of the Warlock” off Doro‘s 2009 LP Fear No Evil and a cover of Skyline‘s “Wacken Hymne (We Are the Metalheads).” Throughout the set, the always charming Doro interacted with the crowd, constantly inviting fans to sing into her microphone.
Due to the venue’s strict curfew, the band were forced to limit their set to just a mere 17 songs, though you can tell the band were ready to dish out more if permitted. Even after the show was said and done, an energized Doro stayed around to sign autographs and take photos with fans eager to spend a moment with the legendary metal maven.
Starting in November, Doro hits the the European market, performing gigs in the Netherlands, Germany, Italy and more (get all dates).
