In support of their brand new onslaught on Metal Blade titled The Blood of Gods, intergalactic barbarians Gwar are currently infesting North American cities via their fall trek, which they kicked off last month in Richmond, VA (the monster mob’s home on earth).
Sporting support from masked deathgrinders Ghoul, horror punk act Doyle and heavy rockers U.S. Bastards, the initial leg of ‘The Blood of Gods Tour’ slithered its way to New York City for a sold-out bash at Irving Plaza on Halloween. Fans dressed in their best ghastly costumes filled every corner of the east village club, ready to be soaked in blood and goo. Drenched they got, as not only Gwar, but also Ghoul sprayed gallons of liquid excrement upon the hundreds in attendance.
In between slaughtering war soldiers, new fictional character Dickie Duncan, a freaky-looking priest, Donald Trump, Hilary Clinton and others, Gwar debuted new songs “War on GWAR,” “I’ll Be Your Monster,” “Viking Death Machine,” “Swarm,” “Fuck This Place” and other new tracks. The slimy outlaws also belched out human favorites such as “Saddam a Go-Go,” “Sexecutioner” (with a special appearance from the sexual executioner himself), “Bring Back the Bomb,” “Black and Huge” and more before ending their New York torment with the AC/DC classic “If You Want Blood (You’ve Got It).”
The assault runs until December. See all upcoming dates HERE. Scroll down below for exclusive photos from NYC.
