Amazing European melodic death metal acts Amorphis, Dark Tranquillity, Moonspell and Omnium Gatherum are currently touring North America on a lengthy 33-date trek that kicked off at a super sold out Gramercy Theatre in New York City this past Friday on September 7th.
Amorphis closed out the show late in the evening, performing a ton of new songs from their recently released LP, Queen of Time, for the first time on U.S. soil. Manhattan enjoyed new tracks “The Bee,” “The Golden Elk,” “Wrong Direction,” “Heart of the Giant,” and “Daughter of Hate,” during the band’s 14-song set. Hits from Skyforger such as “Sky Is Mine” and “Silver Bride,” deep cuts like “The Castaway” and “Black Winter Day” off Tales from the Thousand Lakes, and more rounded out the band’s setlist.
Dark Tranquillity, Moonspell and Omnium Gatherum thrilled with fresh cuts of their own, playing songs from their latest records Atoma, The Burning Cold and 1755, respectively, along with select fan-favorite tracks.
