Abiotic announce new LP, comeback headline tour

After a three-year hiatus, Florida-based techy prog-metal band Abiotic have announced plans to release fresh music this year, marking their first new material since 2015’s Casuistry on Metal Blade Records.

“Stepping away for a couple of years wasn’t what we wanted, but it turned into being exactly what we needed,” said guitarist John Matos. “We’ve all been working on music over the last 3 years and have collaborated to put together my favorite record to date! Something for fans of both of our past albums, along with what we have evolved into.”

Along with Matos, the band is currently comprised of vocalist Travis Bartosek, guitarist Matt Mendez, bassist Kilian Duarte (Scale the Summit), and drummer Aaron Stechauner (The Faceless, ex-Rings of Saturn).

The guys have also announced a deal with Extreme Management Group, along with plans to join forces with Cognitive, plus God of Nothing (from 3/31-4/9), and Greylotus (also from 3/31-4/9) for a U.S. tour this spring.

A show at Long Island’s Revolution happens on April 2 [TIX]. Philly gets a gig at The Barbary the following day, April 3.
