Australian metallers The Amity Affliction are currently wrapping up a North American trip, titled “Misery Will Find You Tour,” with help from co-headliners Senses Fail, plus Belmont and Silent Planet. Announced in the fall, the 27-date trek kicked off in Anaheim, CA at House of Blues at the start of 2019, and is set to close in LA at The Regent on Saturday (2/9).
The outing invaded New York City on January 22nd for a huge concert in the heart of Times Square at PlayStation Theater, where thousands gathered to hear/watch The Amity Affliction perform fresh songs “Drag the Lake” (btw, an official vid recently premiered), “Ivy (Doomsday),” “Holier Than Heaven,” “D.I.E.,” “Feels Like I’m Dying,” and “Set Me Free” from the band’s 2018 effort on Roadrunner Records, Misery. Concert-goers were also treated to favorites like “Don’t Lean On Me,” “Death’s Hand,” “I Bring the Weather With Me,” “Pittsburgh,” and others.
Senses Fail pulled out new tunes from their latest release, If There Is Light, It Will Find You, slamming the crowd with numbers like “Double Cross,” “Gold Jacket, Green Jacket…,” and “Elevator to the Gallows.” Concluding with their popular “Bite to Break Skin” track off 2004’s Let It Enfold You, the band ended with a wild “Chop Suey” (System of a Down), “Bodies” (Drowning Pool), “Break Stuff” (Limp Bizkit), and “Bulls on Parade” (Rage Against The Machine) medley interlude.
Belmont and Silent Planet launched the night’s action with brief but powerful sets highlighting tracks from their latest releases, Belmont and When the End Began, respectively, dishing out songs like “Albert,” “Convalescence” and “Pushing Daisies” (from Belmont), and “The New Eternity,” along with “In Absence” (by Silent Planet).
