New York’s own prog metal greats Dream Theater are gearing up for the release of their new studio effort and 14th overall full-length record, Distance Over Time, on February 22nd through InsideOut Music (their first release on the Sony Music-owned label).
“Distance Over Time showcases a newfound creativity for Dream Theater while maintaining the elements that have garnered them devoted fans around the globe,” reads a press release. “Distance Over Time was produced by John Petrucci, mixed by Ben Grosse and mastered by Tom Baker.”
Last week, Dream Theater unleashed an official video for new single “Paralyzed,” which follows previously released new cuts “Untethered Angel” and “Fall Into The Light.” Stream all three tracks below.
NYC fans will also have the opportunity to hear the impending record in its entirety a full day ahead of its official unleashing at a just announced Looney Tunes-presented listening party at Village East Theater (189 2nd Ave) on February 21 at 7:30 PM. Event goers can expect to listen to the new LP “in 5.1 Surround Sound, as specially created animations are projected on the big screen.” DT members John Petrucci, John Myung and Mike Mangini will also take part in a Q&A directly afterwards.
“The new Dream Theater album, ‘Distance Over Time’ is absolutely fantastic and has some incredible VISUAL and AUDIO components,” states Looney Tunes. “So we have rented a movie theater in NYC to experience this new album WITH THE BAND!! Come hang out with us and the band to experience this new album.”
