Allegaeon ‘Apoptosis’ listening party in NYC

Allegaeon live at Irving Plaza in 2017 by Lina Glasir

Colorado melodic tech-death quintet Allegaeon are gearing up for the release of Apoptosis, their fifth studio release, set to drop on April 19th via Metal Blade Records. A press release describes the impending LP as “a near-perfect symbiosis of technical, progressive, and melodic death metal,” adding that it’s “crushingly heavy as it is inventive, lithe and intelligent, and marks a significant leap forward in the band’s songwriting.”

Apoptosis‘ new single / video, “Extremophiles (B),” directed by Metal Blade’s own Vince Edwards, was unleashed last week. A clip for the effort’s first single, “Stellar Tidal Disruption,” directed for Robert Graves of A Shadow Beyond productions, came out at the start of this year. Stream both videos below.

To hype Apoptosis‘ release, Brooklyn’s The Kingsland will host a Metal Injection-sponsored listening party on April 5 at 10 PM. Fans attending the FREE event can expect to hang with Allegaeon‘s vocalist Riley McShane and guitarist Greg Burgess, and will have the opportunity to hear / purchase the new album a whopping 14-days before release. MI also promises “debauchery & pizza.”

The listening party happens directly after the Gargoyl (Revocation, Ayahuasca), Shardik and Feast of the Epiphany show at 7:30 PM [TIX].
