‘Death…Is Just The Beginning‘ – the 28-date North American crusade featuring Swedish melo-death metal trio Hypocrisy, Italian symphonic tech-death horde Fleshgod Apocalypse and proggy extremists Aenimus – is currently underway, presently invading Canada with a final stop at Oakland, CA’s Metro Opera House set for April 15th.
New York City’s Gramercy Theatre hosted the trek for a completely sold out gig on March 31st. The concert marked Hypocrisy‘s first NYC appearance in a really long time, as visa issues put the kibosh on their 2013 local appearance at Gramercy as well. Finally on Big Apple soil, the band did not hold back, performing a ton of big hits like “Fractured Millennium,” “Eraser,” “Fire in the Sky,” a “Pleasure of Molestation / Osculum Obscenum / Penetralia” medley, closer “Roswell 47,” and much more during their 12-song set.
Fleshgod Apocalypse‘s display saw them dish out heavy hitting tracks as well, in the form of “The Violation,” “Healing Through War,” Cold as Perfection,” “The Fool,” “The Egoism,” and set finale “The Forsaking.” Fans were also treated to new, bittersweet song “Sugar,” from the band’s impending LP titled Veleno, set to drop on May 24th via Nuclear Blast.
Aenimus launched the evening into disarray with fresh tunes of their own, counting tracks from their new album Dreamcatcher and debut effort Transcend Reality.
