Demons & Wizards announce North American tour

Demons & Wizards by Dirk Behlau

Florida power metal act Demons & Wizards (ft. Iced Earth‘s Jon Schaffer & Blind Guardian‘s Hansi Kürsch) have announced a North American headline tour for the summer being called ‘A Magical Encounter With Demons & Wizards’ and featuring support from Lizzy Borden and Tyr.

“Demons & Wizards touring North America? That is going to be pure magic, guaranteed,” says Kürsch about the upcoming trek. “You better not miss it, cause you never know when the Demon and the Wizard will join forces again. I am really thrilled about these first shows for Demons & Wizards in North America and we are going to make every single night a legendary night to remember. Join us on this path of glory.”

“I am very happy that we’ve announced the first ever Demons & Wizards tour in North America,” adds Shaffer. “We’ve been getting fan requests for many years to bring this show to all points around the world. To be able to do it in the USA is an exciting development. Stay heavy and see you on the road soon!”

The tour takes off in LA mid-August and hits Portland, Denver, Chicago, Canada, and more, including NYC at PlayStation Theater on September 5 [TIX]. The tour ends at a sold-out ‘Progpower” in Atlanta two days after the Manhattan show.

Before the North American romp, Demons & Wizards will perform spring through summer gigs in Europe and the UK, which includes festival stops at ‘Graspop Metal Meeting,’ ‘Hellfest,’ ‘Wacken Open Air,’ and more. All upcoming tour dates can be viewed below.

In more news, Century Media plan to re-release Demons & Wizards‘ 1999 self-titled debut album (pre-order) and their 2005 sophomore LP, Touched by the Crimson King, on June 7th (pre-order).
