Seattle metallers Sanctuary have announced a summer U.S. headlining tour featuring a full performance of their 1988 debut album on Epic Records, Refuge Denied, in its entirety at every gig.
“It is with great pleasure that we can finally announce that Sanctuary are officially continuing on,” stated the band. “This small string of US dates will serve as the starting point of many more things to come. To celebrate the deep history of the band and the connection the fans have with us, we will perform Refuge Denied in its entirety, along with other popular songs.”
Fellow Washington headbangers Ghost Ship Octavius will provide support on the upcoming 12-date run, which hits Brooklyn’s Saint Vitus on July 14 [TIX]. All dates can be viewed below.
Regarding Sanctuary’s future, guitarist Lenny Rutledge recently told Decibel that they “are currently writing new material with [singer] Joseph [Michael]” of Witherfall fame, who joined the band last year, with an LP release date “in either late 2019 or early 2020.” The band are also interested in doing an Into the Mirror Black 30th reunion tour at some point in the future.
Last year, Sanctuary toured North America with Iced Earth and Kill Ritual, dedicating the run to their fallen brother, founding vocalist Warrel Dane. If you missed the outing, check out photos from the NYC show at Gramercy Theatre.
