Florida death metal legends Deicide are currently wrapping up their North American headline tour, having ravaged major cities across the U.S. and Canada with support from the mighty Origin, Jungle Rot and The Absence, plus local support in some markets.
The tour’s third-to-last stop went down at a packed Gramercy Theatre in NYC on Saturday, June 1st, a show that saw Deicide pummel fans with vile rippers like “Dead by Dawn,” “Scars of the Crucifix,” “Once Upon the Cross,” “Trifixion,” and “Lunatic of God’s Creation.” Leadman Glen Benton and company (which now features new guitarist Chris Cannella of Autumn’s End) also performed fresh singles “Seal the Tomb Below” and “Excommunicated” from last year’s blasphemous Overtures of Blasphemy.
Origin dominated the direct support spot, playing a mix of hits from their discography, including “Expulsion of Fury,” “Accident and Error,” “Lethal Manipulation (The Bonecrusher Chronicles),” “The Burner,” “Redistribution” and more. The band are out supporting their newest release, Abiogenesis – A Coming into Existence, which consists of previously unreleased pre-Origin era tracks, along with a remastered version of the their 1998 debut EP, A Coming into Existence.
