Wolves at the Gate release new song “Drifter”

Wolves at the Gate by Aaron Marsh

Ohio post-hardcore unit Wolves at the Gate have just premiered (via Revolver) their new single, “Drifter” (stream it below), which comes off their upcoming album, Eclipse, due for release on July 26 through Solid State.

Regarding the new track, Revolver says, “[Drifter] exemplifies the band’s ability to write a lush and catchy track while holding onto the heaviness that separates them from the radio-rock crowd.”

Vocalist Stephen Cobucci comments, “While in the studio, [guitarist] Joey [Alarcon] and I stayed up late one night talking with our vocalist Nick [Detty] about the various ways he had been struggling internally. Feeling worthless, feeling like he would never escape this vicious cycle of falling into the same traps.”

Regarding the new LP, Cobucci adds, “We named the record ‘Eclipse’ because of how well it encapsulated the relationship the light and the dark can have. An eclipse tells you that it’s dark, but it takes truth and faith to know that the sun is still shining. All of this revolves around my walk of faith in believing the truths of the gospel message, seeking to help others find hope and peace in the love of God, as well as how to come to grips with various social/political/personal issues.”

In more news, Wolves at the Gate will be playing U.S. shows this summer, hitting Rochester, NY at Montage Music Hall on July 13, Albany, NY at Jupiter Hall on July 14, Brooklyn, NY at The Kingsland on July 15, Long Branch, NJ at Brighton Bar on July 16, Hartford, CT at Webster Underground on July 17, Philadelphia, PA at Voltage Lounge at July 18, and much more.
