Coheed and Cambria and Mastodon are in the process of wrapping up their late spring / early summer co-headline trek, dubbed ‘The Unheavenly Skye Tour,’ which also sees support from NY’s own Every Time I Die.
The lengthy outing arrived at Brooklyn’s Ford Amphitheater at Coney Island Boardwalk on June 7th, which saw Coheed and Cambria closing out the evening with a set filled with tunes from their latest offering, The Unheavenly Creatures, performing anthems like “The Dark Sentencer,” “The Gutter,” “True Ugly,” “Old Flames,” “The Pavilion (A Long Way Back),” the LP’s title-track and more. The band’s 15 song set also featured hits such as “A Favor House Atlantic,” “No World for Tomorrow,” “Mother Superior,” uber track “Welcome Home,” and a few others.
Special for this tour and celebrating the LP’s 10th anniversary, Mastodon pulled out their popular 2009 full-length record, Crack the Skye, in full, playing all 11 tracks, which included huge numbers like “Oblivion,” “The Czar,” “The Last Baron,” and “Crystal Skull.” Following this tour, which ends in Irving, TX on Wednesday, the band will take on ‘Rock Fest 2019’ in Wisconsin and ‘Exit 111 2019’ in Tennessee. The guys are also working on a new LP, the follow-up to 2017’s Emperor of Sand.
Every Time I Die, who return for NYC concert cruise shows in September, kicked off the evening with fan-favorite bangers like “Underwater Bimbos From Outer Space,” “We’re Wolf,” “Decayin’ With the Boys,” “It Remembers,” “The New Black,” “Map Change” and a few others.
