Killswitch Engage and Clutch are currently embarked on a co-headlining North American tour with support from Cro-Mags JM (ft. John Josephn and Mackie Jayson).
The ongoing trek crashed Huntington, NY’s The Paramount on July 30th, with Killswitch Engage closing out the evening with a strong 16-song set that kicked off with “Strength of the Mind” off Incarnate, leading into a trifecta of tracks from As Daylight Dies: “This Fire,” “The Arms of Sorrow” and “My Curse.” The band also dished out new singles “I Am Broken Too” and “Unleashed,” which appear on their upcoming Atonement LP on Metal Blade (due 8/16). The band rounded out their set with popular songs off Disarm the Descent, Alive or Just Breathing and The End of Heartache, ending the night with their popular Dio cover “Holy Diver.”
Clutch dished out fresh songs as well during their equally pummeling 16-song display, performing “Gimme the Keys,” “Ghoul Wrangler,” and “How to Shake Hands” off their latest full-length on Weathermaker Music, Book of Bad Decisions, along with their new ZZ Top cover “Precious and Grace.” The set also featured heavy hitters like “A Shogun Named Marcus,” “The Regulator,” “The Soapmakers,” “Electric Worry” and others. The band concluded with another cover track, playing “Evil” by Cactus for the first time ever as a show finisher.
Cro-Mags JM warmed up the pit with a 40-minute set consisting of huge favorites off The Age of Quarrel like “We Gotta Know,” “World Peace,” “Show No Mercy,” “Malfunction,” “Street Justice,” “Hard Times” and more. Highlights from their set include the inclusion of “Crush the Demoniac” from Best Wishes, along with Bad Brains covers “Right Brigade” and “Attitude,” plus the intro to Leeway‘s “Rise and Fall.”
