Photos: SOS performed at the 2019 NYC Marathon (11/3)

Stationed in Long Island City nearby One Court Square, NYC’s own punk rocking metal vets SOS returned to their old stomping grounds for their 20th consecutive appearance at the historical TCS New York City Marathon. The race, as always, saw thousands of runners zipping through the streets of the Big Apple with an almost equal amount of bodies cheering them from the sides.

SOS‘ setlist or “menu” (as leadman Mike Mangan described it) consisted of their usual three-set arrangement, which contained about 9 to 11 songs per segment. With hours of guitar plucking and drum beating to accomplish, the band didn’t waste time diving into numbers like the far-out “Good to Go” (which they performed at the start of each set), the surprisingly graceful “Daddy Like,” the extra crunchy “Whiskey Beard,” the alt-heavy “Bumblef*ck,” and so many more.
