Glam rock greats Steel Panther brought their ongoing ‘Heavy Metal Rules Tour‘ to New York City a few weeks ago for a back-to-back ravaging at Manhattan’s popular Gramercy Theatre. Supporting their new LP, aptly titled Heavy Metal Rules, the band showcased their tantalize antics during night 1, performing a handful of new tunes like the self-loving anthem “All I Wanna Do Is Fuck (Myself Tonight),” the lewd yet all-too-catchy “Fuck Everybody,” and fresh acoustic cut “I Ain’t Buying What You’re Selling.”

Steel Panther favorites “Eyes of a Panther,” “Let Me Cum In,” “Asian Hooker” and “Poontang Boomerang” helped kick off the party, as the fiery foursome drilled their way through the 16-song set. Highlights from the evening include a cover of the Dokken classic “Into the Fire,” which the guys performed alongside a gentleman pulled from the crowd (who the band referred to as their “pot dealer”) by the name of Kirk Oguri, and a performance of “Community Property” accompanied by a bagpipe player by the name of Matt Bender.

As usual, songs “Party All Day (Fuck All Night)” and “17 Girls in a Row” saw a slew of female fans flood the stage for an all-out dance-off. Ending the celebration, the band pulled out the heavy “Death to All but Metal” and the ‘not safe for anyone’ “Gloryhole.”

LA rockers Stitched Up Heart provided direct support during the evening, keeping the crowd energized with familiar tracks like “Catch Me When I Fall,” “Finally Free” and “Monster,” plus a handful of newer songs such as “This Skin,” “Warrior,” “Problems” and “Lost.”
