Gaerea joins Century Media Records, drops “Submerged” video single

Portuguese masked metal collective Gaerea has officially joined the Century Media Records roster, kicking off a new chapter in their journey through the darker edges of extreme music.

Known for blending black metal intensity with atmospheric and emotional depth, Gaerea has spent the last decade pushing boundaries and captivating audiences across the globe. Now, with their new label home, the band unveils their powerful debut single for Century Media, “Submerged.”

Produced once again by longtime collaborator Miguel Tereso of Demigod Recordings, “Submerged” comes with a striking video featuring a lone figure lost in a sea of thoughts, perfectly matching the track’s emotional depth and powerful sound. It’s another bold move for Gaerea, who continue to push their signature style while resisting easy categorization.

Gaerea are currently in the studio working on their next full-length album, set for release in early 2026. Over the past few months, the band has been taking their intense and immersive live show around the globe, headlining to sold-out crowds across North America and Europe, and making major festival appearances at Brutal Assault (CZ), Alcatraz (BE), and Summer Breeze (DE).

This fall, the momentum continues as Gaerea hit the road across the UK and Europe, joining their labelmates Orbit Culture as direct support.

“We are excited to be working with GAEREA and their team,” says Century Media Vice President of A&R, Mike Gitter. “They are a rare band that transcends convenient genres and suggests something deeper on both musical, but also spiritual levels. In many ways, their story is just beginning.”
