German thrash metal vets Necronomicon have announced their 2022 European ‘The Final Chapter Tour’ for September and October — see the full schedule below.
Here’s more info from the tour reveal, “Germany’s Cult Thrashers NECRONOMICON – currently busy working on their 11th studio album – have a huge pleasure to announce their The Final Chapter Tour 2022 over Europe, kicking off on September 23rd in Berlin, Germany. The main support on the whole tour comes from 3000AD (NZ) + on selected dates STRIDENT (IL) and STONECAST (FR).”

Regarding the band’s upcoming album, frontman and vocalist Freddy states:
“We’ve started with the guitar & vocal recordings. As always we will produce this in our own home studio. At the same time Rik is recording the drum parts and Glen is working on the solos, so Achim Köhler will get the finished production still in July and will start with the mix & mastering. The new album will include 13 songs full of power and hardness. A wide spectrum from typical thrash metal versions over punk-heavy versions to driving midtempi songs.
As the world is becoming to resemble the H.P. Lovecraft’s Necronomicon (Book of Dead) we have decided to deal with the current situation in Ukraine and in general with the topic of war and violence against children and women. Musically I would like to tie in with “The Final Chapter” and deliver a wide range of song material which also means a new beginning, a new chapter of the band with Rik and Glen at the same time. You can be curious.”
