Blood and Sun have announced a European tour in support of their upcoming third album, Aion’s Light, due October 16 via Nordvis.
The run begins October 29 in Nantes, France and continues through late November, with Seattle’s Society of the Silver Cross joining the tour and Swedish artist Linnea Hjertén opening each date.
Aion’s Light was recorded entirely on the same Tascam 414 four-track cassette portastudio used for Blood and Sun’s earliest demo. The nine-track album draws from ’70s folk, black metal and horror soundtrack influences.
“Aion’s Light is a return to the roots of Blood and Sun, but also a test of limits – raw sound, direct songwriting, and the old four-track that started this path in the first place,” Luke Tromiczak said. “The album traces a journey from the darkness of winter to the first flowers of spring, tracing the pagan currents that continue to course through my life.”
Blood and Sun have already shared the album’s title track along with “Life Lessons” and “Gifts of Oneiroi.”
