Chicago proggy metalcore band Born of Osiris have been forced to cancel their scheduled October 28th drive-in show at the Lake Shore Drive-In in the parking lot of the Adler Planetarium.
The band said:
This week, Chicago added several new states to the city’s emergency travel order, requiring people traveling from CO, OH, DE, WV & TX to quarantine for 14 days upon arrival. We have both band and crew members that live in those states, which means that this recent news will directly affect our ability to perform our drive-in show that is scheduled for Wednesday. We have to adhere to all laws and safety regulations, so we have no choice but to cancel this show. All tickets will be refunded.
We’re sorry to anyone that was planning on attending. We’ve done everything possible to make this show happen, but the timing of these new travel restrictions has not worked in our favor. 2020 strikes again 👎 We promise we will make it up to you in the future and under much better circumstances.
Guitarist Lee McKinney added:
To this day, one of my favorite parts about being in a metal band is the vibe and energy in the room at a metal show. For that reason, I’ve wanted to do stuff like this (failed) show.. and not do live streaming. After this, I’m down to stream for you guys. Let’s shoot for December ❤️
The drive-in show was set to feature opening sets from Dogma, Mantis and Hive.
